The vacuum is generated by a vacuum tank contained in each lifter. A vacuum is established between the pad and pipe with the simple opening of a valve, providing a very strong grip. Lifters exploit pressure differentials to create strong double seal system which grips and handles the load, and the capacity of the lifter is determined by model and suction pad configuration.
