Wire Springs
Custom Springs

ISO 10243 Wire springs
Special Springs produces a complete range of standard mold springs meeting ISO 10243 requirements.
The ISO 10243 springs feature a rectangular cross-sectional shape.
All wire springs are coated with E-COAT cataphoretic painting, carried out using a unique facility in Europe. The electrophoretic coating process involves immersing the spring in a water-based solution and applying an electric current to deposit the paint. This ensures optimal surface coverage, high corrosion resistance, and a thin paint layer.

US Series wire springs
US Series springs are distinguished by their partial color-coding, achieved through an additional process after E-COAT to identify spring category. This is the origin of the claim “The Springs with the Stripes.” Another distinguishing feature is the oval cross-section of the wire.

Precompressed Units
Precompressed Units are compact, ready-to-install mechanical components designed to deliver consistent force and deflection in various industrial applications. These units are preloaded with a spring mechanism, allowing them to absorb shock, control motion, or manage vibration effectively. Ideal for high-precision tasks, precompressed units help in reducing wear, improving alignment, and extending equipment life. Commonly used in automation systems, tooling assemblies, and mechanical linkages, they offer predictable performance under dynamic loads.

JIS B 5012 wire springs
Special Springs manufactures a complete range of mold springs compliant with the JIS B 5012 standard, the primary standard in the Japanese market. Many JIS models undergo E-COAT electrophoretic painting, applied using state-of-the-art equipment. This process involves immersing the springs in a water-based solution with an electric current to deposit the color, resulting in uniform coverage, high corrosion resistance, and a thin paint layer.
Gas Springs & Systems

Gas Springs
Special Springs has established a leading role in the design and supply of gas springs. Our design and manufacturing processes are entirely managed in-house, allowing us to introduce significant innovations and offer a complete range of dimensional variations and special solutions aimed at ensuring high performance.
Special Springs’ extensive range of nitrogen gas cylinders is available to designers and companies not only in the automotive sector but also in other industrial areas that use stamping processes for metal or plastic components.

Easy manifold System
Since 1997, Special Springs has been designing and producing Easy Manifold, a system that provides a practical and cost-effective alternative to traditional Manifold cylinders. Flexible and easy to install, the system allows for a wide range of combinations using standard cylinders and eliminates the need for pipes and fittings.
Special Springs can also supply customized, fully tested, and installation-ready Easy Manifold systems. Easy Manifold ensures uniform pressure throughout the system and long-lasting performance, backed by Special Springs’ active safety features: OSAS, USAS, and OPAS.

Manifold System
Manifold systems offer an alternative to independent linked cylinders, eliminating the need for pipes and fittings. Easy to install and maintain, these systems provide high forces with a compact footprint. Additionally, operators can monitor and adjust pressure through a convenient control panel.
Special Springs’ Manifold cylinders are equipped with active over-stroke safety OSAS with OSM over-stroke marker and an optional SW Secondary Wiper.

Linked Systems
Linked systems offer significant advantages in managing molds, allowing force adjustment and secure pressure control.
BENEFITS:
Linked systems ensure uniform pressure across all cylinders and allow pressure control. This enables precise control of the force applied to the sheet metal, even during stamping. The operator can increase or reduce cylinder pressure (and thus the force) without intervening on each individual cylinder.

The Control Delay Systems
Control delay systems are the ideal solution for meeting the demands of particularly complex sheet metal processing, especially in situations where controlling the extension movement of the cylinders is necessary.
The ability to control the return of the cylinder rods minimizes the risk of deformation of the stamped part, enhancing processing effectiveness and production efficiency.
Special Springs offers two control delay systems:
- The Hydraulic Control Delay System, which uses hydraulic cylinders, available in two versions: integrated into the mold (IN-DIE SYSTEM) and with an external cooling unit (EXTERNAL UNIT SYSTEM).
- The new Gas Control Delay System, which uses nitrogen cylinders.
